Travellers successfully removed from the Jubilee Field

The Town Council are pleased to say that the Travellers have been successfully removed from the Jubilee Field. They first arrived on Thursday 20th June and we immediately took steps to ask them to move on and at the same time sought legal advice to serve a common law notice enabling us to have them removed if they did not go of their own accord after the weekend. We will now review all the security arrangements along with partners that have access to the Jubilee Car park and Field and do our best to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks to all those that have helped with this difficult situation, the Town Council Staff, Town Council Members, the Police, the County Traveller Liaison Officer and of course the Residents that have given information and been patient whilst we have been resolving the issue. We are proud of the lovely Jubilee Field and that so many people enjoy using it. We are looking forward to hosting the lark in the park event again this year on 13th July 11-4pm.
