Mildenhall Christmas Fayre 2018

Merry Mildenhall was a great success again this year, with a packed schedule of entertainment all evening and attended by crowds of people from Mildenhall and the surrounding villages.

Santa arrived on his sleigh to a huge cheer before settling into his grotto to greet local children. The Christmas lights were switched on by children representing local Beavers, Guides, Scouts and Rainbows. Performances from LED lit drummers, KATs dance group and carols from the Bunbury Players added to the atmosphere; there were lots of stalls selling Christmas crafts and other goodies, brilliant food and a fun time was had by all. Councillor Ruth Bowman said "Mildenhall Parish Council is proud to organise this event annually and delighted by the enjoyment it brings for families. Lots of work goes in by Parish Councillors and staff and it's all worth it. RLCP Mildenhall Group

RLCP Mildenhall Group are meeting on

Wednesday 19th December, Mildenhall Museum 6pm and 6.45pm

6pm A meeting for everyone who has volunteered this year!

(and anyone else who would like to volunteer/help out on our river sessions next year!)

-Glenn will run through planning our upcoming sessions and we will choose the dates together than suit as many people as possible

-We will look at setting up an equipment store in Mildenhall More »

-We will take a look at projects up and downstream over the coming months where the Mildenhall group might be happy to help

6.45pm Following on will be an open meeting for James Dyke To report back on the study of the Mildenhall Lark including the Gas Lock,Turf Lock and Island as an Environment Agency contribution to the upcoming fish passage project.

This is part of the Brecks, Fen Edge and Rivers (BFER) HLF project which is in "development" phase with full permission and funding decisions in about eight months or so.

Glenn,Jim and Andrew who have put together the RLCP part of the bid, together with the Environment Agency, will outline the volunteer work that will be funded along the Lark. » Less
